They are more skilled speakers than African Greys, they rarely bite and are very sweet quiet birds. Excellent for first time bird owners or noise sensitive living situations.
Appearance & Physical Traits
Cape Parrots are medium‑large Poicephalus parrots with a bright green body, olive‑yellow to golden head, and orange‑red patches on the shoulders and ankles. Females and juveniles show an orange‑red forehead patch, while adult males lose this patch around 10 months.

Cape Parrots make thoughtful, gentle, steady companions — quieter than most medium parrots, deeply bonded, and very “family‑flock” oriented when raised well.
