Kinkajous, Honey Bears, Gigi, exotic animals we breed

Kinkajous (Honey Bears)

  • Kinkajous are nocturnal, tree-dwelling mammals native to Central and South America. Despite their monkey-like appearance, they are not primates. They are extremely intelligent, curious, and agile, with a prehensile tail that functions like an extra limb.

  • Lifespan: 20–25 years

  • Strong bonds with primary caretakers

  • Require large vertical enclosures and daily enrichment

  • Best suited for experienced exotic owners

  • Kinkajous can be affectionate with proper socialization, but they demand time, patience, and a long-term commitment.

Squirrel Monkeys

  • Squirrel monkeys are highly intelligent New World primates with complex emotional and social needs. They thrive in enriched, structured environments and require constant mental stimulation.

  • Lifespan: 15–20+ years

  • Extremely social and energetic

  • Require specialized diets and housing

  • Not recommended for typical pet homes, due to their advanced needs, squirrel monkeys are best suited for licensed facilities or highly experienced caretakers, not casual ownership.

Sugar Gliders

  • Sugar gliders are small nocturnal marsupials known for their social nature and strong bonding ability. When properly cared for, they can make engaging and interactive companions.

  • Lifespan: 12–15 years

  • Best kept in pairs or groups

  • Require a strict, well-balanced diet.  Need daily interaction and enrichment

  • Sugar gliders can thrive in pet homes when owners are educated and prepared to meet their needs.

Our Primate Program – Coming Soon
We are excited to announce that Feather Headz Aviary & Exotics is currently developing our future primate program.
At this time, no monkeys are available for sale or reservation. Our primate program is still in development as we complete the necessary planning, facility expansion, and regulatory requirements.
While we aren't yet making our monkeys available, we are raising and caring for troops of young monkeys that are being prepared as the foundation of our future breeding program. In the meantime, we invite you to enjoy photos, videos, and updates as you watch them grow and become part of the Feather Headz family.
Once all requirements have been met, we look forward to responsibly offering captive-bred primates at a future date.
Thank you for your patience and support as we build a program focused on exceptional care, responsible breeding, and education.

Exotic Animal Ownership & Legal Requirements

At Feather Headz Aviary & Exotics, we are committed to responsible ownership and full compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

Many exotic animal species are regulated differently from state to state. Some states prohibit private ownership, while others require specific licenses, permits, inspections, or other approvals before an animal may legally be possessed.

It is the buyer's responsibility to research and comply with all federal, state, county, and local laws that apply where they live. Any required permits, licenses, or approvals must be obtained before the placement of any exotic animal.

Feather Headz Aviary & Exotics reserves the right to request proof that all legal requirements have been met and may decline a sale if we cannot verify that an animal can be legally and responsibly placed.

Our priority is the long-term welfare of our animals and ensuring every placement is both legal and in the best interest of the animal.
