Our Rehoming Process:

If you’re interested in welcoming one of our babies into your home, please reach out and let us know which species you’re interested in. We pride ourselves on helping guide families to the species that best fits their lifestyle. This guidance is based on experience, daily schedules, household dynamics, and long-term compatibility—because the right match matters.
Adding a Feather Headz Baby to Your Family
We require a 30% non-refundable deposit to hold a baby that is still being weaned. This deposit secures your bird until they are ready to go home. Because deposits are non-refundable, we ask that you carefully discuss the decision with all family members, significant others, and landlords (if applicable) before committing. Most species are fully weaned and ready for their new homes at approximately 16 weeks of age. Once the bird is fully weaned, the remaining balance is due.
Deposits & Payment Structure
Pickup & Transportation
We do not ship birds via cargo. All birds must be picked up in person or transported using a trusted, professional ground or flight nanny service. You are also welcome to arrange your own transportation if preferred. If picking up in person, the remaining balance is due at pickup. If using transportation, the remaining balance must be paid 72 hours prior to the transporter’s scheduled pickup. All birds must be paid in full before leaving our facility—no exceptions.
We do not offer traditional payment plans. However, you are welcome to make payments toward a future baby. We also offer Hatch Deposits, which are small deposits placed on a future baby that has not yet hatched. Certain species may have long waitlists, and a hatch deposit secures your place in line. Hatch deposits are fully refundable if we are unable to provide a baby within your desired timeframe. Once the babies hatch, you will be notified. If you choose to move forward, the remaining balance of the 30% deposit is due at that time.

Travel Options
Our babies travel exceptionally well by ground transport or in-cabin air travel. You are welcome to meet us at Miami International Airport, where your bird will be provided in an airline-approved travel carrier. The baby then travels on your lap in the cabin—never cargo.
Health Testing & Veterinary Care
All birds are fully disease tested, and you will receive official laboratory certificates for:
*Polyomavirus
*PBFD
*Psittacosis
*Borna Virus (for vulnerable species)
We strongly encourage all new owners to schedule a veterinary visit within 72 hours of receiving their bird. We follow Florida state law regarding health guarantees.
Ethical Breeding Practices
We do not sell unweaned birds, regardless of buyer experience. We firmly believe selling unweaned babies is unethical and unsafe. Hand-feeding is a delicate, critical process that should be completed solely by the breeder to ensure the health, stability, and long-term success of the bird.
